Background:
He was born in February 14th, 1960 in humble house. He finished his primary & Prep. study in his camp's schools, and then he finished his high schools. Mahmoud was the best between his brothers.
He was very active in the public activities in his area, he participated in Hamas rallies, and then he joined to the Islamic resistance movement Hamas. He was playing the sport of Body building. He has fourteen brothers and two sisters. He was the fifth between his brothers. He married in 1983, he has four sons and three daughters. He was detained by the Zionist entity for one year in As-Saraya in 1986
He joined to Hamas in 1978. Zionist entity detained him on May 11th, 1989. Zionist entity accused of kidnapping two soldiers from Gaza during the first Intifada. In 1990, the Zionist court ordered the Zionist army to destroy his house. The Zionist entity chased him heavily. After two months,of chasing, he decided to go out to Egypt.
Al Qassam Brigades:
Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades consider him as one of its founders in Gaza strip. Zionist occupation had attempted to assassinate him three times after he executed several abudction operations of the Zionist soldiers.
The first assassination attempt was in 1991, following the capture of two Zionist soldiers in 1989, he had exposed to the second assassination attempt with the martyr Ezzedeen Sheikh Khalil in Damascus in April 2004.
The third assassination attempt was about a month after the assassination of the military commander of Lebanese Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyeh in Damascus in February 2008.
He had relationship with the Commander General of Al Qassam Brigades Sheikh Salah Shehadeh, and the beginnings of operations against the occupation. Sheikh Salah Shehadeh was observing the operations that were carried out and issuing orders even from inside the prison, including the capture of the soldiers.
Martyrdom:
The mujahed was martyred on January 20th, 2010, Video clips and the information released by Dubai police officers investigating the murder, show that the assassination squad involved 11 men carrying British, French, German and Irish passports. He was martyred after a bright history of hard work with Al Qassam for his home "Palestine".
Al Qassam Brigades mourns the death of the mujahed, reaffirms the commitment and determination to continue the resistance against the belligerent occupation forces.
